ICBC: Overall Credit Risk of Inclusive and Personal Loans Controllable; NIM Decline Expected to Narrow Further This Yr

ICBC (01398.HK) announced its full-year results today (27th). The bank's president, Liu Jun, stated at the press conference that ICBC's operational efficiency improved steadily, with enhanced profit resilience.

Core performance indicators such as operating income, net fee and commission income, PPOP, and net profit all posted positive growth, with annual operating income adding by 1.9% YoY.

Vice President Wang Jingwu noted that since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the bank's non-performing loan (NPL) ratio has consistently improved by at least 2 bps annually. At the end of last year, the group's NPL ratio was 1.31%, down 3 bps from the beginning of the year.

He pointed out that the entire industry is facing mounted pressure in asset quality management for inclusive and personal loans, but ICBC's credit risk in these two segments is overall controllable, with sufficient provisioning.

Vice President Yao Mingde mentioned that the decline in net interest margin (NIM) is gradually narrowing, and it is expected to narrow further in 2026 from 2025. The bank will manage its balance sheet well to control the NIM level.
