Lei Jun, Chairman and CEO of XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), stated that the dexterous hand of Xiaomi robot, with full palm tactile sensing, has always been a challenge. When visual occlusion occurs, tactile sensing is needed for intra-palm operations, but it is difficult to find a good full-palm coverage solution. The team adopted a different approach using tactile gloves that can be worn by both human and bionic hands. The same operations can yield similar tactile data, with the data collection efficiency much higher than remote operations. Moreover, when worn out, the gloves can simply be replaced.
