<H Shrs>HSI Soars 447 Pts at Midday; AIA Swells ~6%; TINGYI, CHINA RES BEER Rally Post-Results

The HSI concluded the midday near the peak at 24,829, up 447 points or 1.8%. The HSCEI rose 118 points or 1.4% to 8,426. The HSTECH climbed 67 points or 1.4% to 4,779. The total market turnover for the half-day amounted to HKD149.586 billion. In the financial sector, HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) and HKEX (00388.HK) grew 2.5% and 1.9%. AIA (01299.HK) surged 5.8%. STANCHART (02888.HK) climbed 3.9%. Among Chinese financial stocks, CM BANK (03968.HK), PING AN (02318.HK), PICC P&C (02328.HK), and CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) rebounded over 2%. Hong Kong developers sensitive to interest rates also bounced back. NEW WORLD DEV (00017.HK) hiked 3.3%. SHK PPT (00016.HK), SINO LAND (00083.HK), and SWIREPROPERTIES (01972.HK) leaped 2.4-2.7%. HENDERSON LAND (00012.HK) gained 1.5%, despite a 38% drop in its annual underlying earnings and a decline in its final dividend to HK76 cents. TINGYI (00322.HK) soared 6.7%. It reported a 21% increase in last year's profit, and its final and special dividends totaled RMB79.84 cents. CHINA RES BEER (00291.HK) ballooned 5.7%. It reiterated its target to raise the interim dividend payout ratio to 60-70% at its earnings conference. Among other consumer stocks, MIXUE GROUP (02097.HK) shot up 5.1%. POP MART (09992.HK), HAIDILAO (06862.HK), PRADA (01913.HK), and SAMSONITE (01910.HK) added 3-3.7%. In the tech sector, TENCENT (00700.HK) and BABA-W (09988.HK) rose 1.8% and 1.6%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) ticked up 2.5%. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) gained 1.6% and 1.3%. JD-SW (09618.HK) edged 0.7% higher. NTES-S (09999.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) dipped 0.5%. EAST BUY (01797.HK) advanced 3.8%. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) escalated 0.8% and 2.3%. Carmaker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) mushroomed 4.2% to HKD106.7.
