Hurun Research Institute released the Hurun Global U40 Self-Made Billionaires 2026, revealing 108 self-made billionaires aged 40 and under worldwide, an all-time new high, with an increase of 30 billionaires YoY.

Edwin Chen, the 38-year-old founder of Surge AI, topped the Hurun Global U40 Self-Made Billionaires 2026 with a fortune of RMB135 billion. Brett Adcock, the 39-year-old founder of humanoid robot company Figure AI, and Wang Ning, the 39-year-old founder of POP MART (09992.HK), along with his family, are tied for second place, with a fortune of RMB110 billion.

Brett Adcock's wealth soared by 1,043%, while Wang's family wealth surged by 132%, mainly due to the global popularization of their art toy products, especially the Labubu IP, solidifying POP MART's position as a leading new-generation consumer brand globally.

In the new tea beverage sector, three billionaires emerged, naming Wang Yun'an, the 40-year-old founder of GUMING (01364.HK), with a fortune of RMB22.5 billion; Zhang Junjie, the 31-year-old founder of Chagee Holdings (CHA.US), a new entrant who dropped out of school at 11, with a fortune of RMB8.5 billion; and 35-year-old Neo Nie, founder of Heytea.
