Since the outbreak of the Middle East war, the number of tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz has nosedived by 90% WoW, though shipments haven't come to a complete standstill, according to Kpler, an energy market intelligence company.

Around 20% of the world's crude oil is transported through the Strait of Hormuz, and crude oil and natural gas prices have surged drastically following the large-scale airstrike by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28.
