The US White House is debating whether to allow TENCENT (00700.HK) to retain its stakes in popular gaming companies, according to a report from The Financial Times.

It is understood that senior White House officials have convened meetings to assess if TENCENT's investments in US and Finnish gaming groups would pose a national security risk. Several cabinet officials were originally scheduled to discuss this matter yesterday (3rd), but the meeting was postponed due to scheduling issues.
