TiMi Montreal, a studio under TENCENT (00700.HK), had recently ceased operations, as confirmed by several former employees on social media platforms, a 21st Century Business Herald report said. Established in 2021, TiMi Montreal was led by Ashraf Ismail, the former creative director of the Assassin's Creed series. At its inception, TENCENT internally positioned it to focus on developing large-scale game products with AAA quality, open-world architecture, and cross-platform capabilities, though it ultimately didn't release any completed projects.
