The HSI ended the midday down 523 points or 1.9% at 26,558. The HSCEI dropped 190 points or 2.1% to 9,007. The HSTECH fell 127 points or 2.4% to 5,258. The market's total half-day turnover reached HKD138.679 billion. Tech stocks receded along with the external market. TENCENT (00700.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) slipped 3-3.8%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) shed 4.8%. TME-SW (01698.HK), CHINASOFT INT'L (00354.HK), and WEIMOB INC (02013.HK) dived 5.2-5.7%. KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK), MEITU (01357.HK), CHINA LIT (00772.HK), and KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) tumbled 6.8-8.3%. Robotics concept stock DOBOT (02432.HK) plunged 10.5%. Its peers UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK), MINTH GROUP (00425.HK), and SANHUA (02050.HK) collapsed 5.6-7.1%. In the AI sector, SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) and XTALPI (02228.HK) lost 6.1% and 5.6%. PHANCY (06682.HK) cratered 12.4%. In contrast, KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) and MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) rebounded 20.9% and 7.9%. Among chip stocks, SMIC (00981.HK) slid 1.7%, while HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) rose 1%. INNOSCIENCE (02577.HK), BIREN TECH (06082.HK), and ILUVATAR COREX (09903.HK) rallied over 3%. Pharma stocks also headed south. CSPC PHARMA (01093.HK), SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK), 3SBIO (01530.HK), INNOVENT BIO (01801.HK), and HANSOH PHARMA (03692.HK) fell 5.6-6.5%. WUXI XDC (02268.HK), WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK), and AKESO (09926.HK) slipped 4.4-5%. Chinese insurers CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK), NCI (01336.HK), and CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) went down 5.6-6.1%.
