Hong Kong bourse reversed the previous day's uptrend, opening 168 points or 0.6% lower at 26,913. With wilder downswing in the early session, the HSI slid as many as 504 points to bottom at 26,577. The WuXi Series was squeezed, with WUXI APPTEC (02359.HK), WUXI BIO (02269.HK), and WUXI XDC (02268.HK) down 3.3-4.1%. Chinese insurers were suppressed, with CHINA LIFE (02628.HK) lasting at HKD32.54, down 5.9%, as the biggest blue-chip loser with a turnover of HKD954 million. PING AN (02318.HK) last stood at HKD70, down 3.85%, with a turnover of HKD1.372 billion. CPIC (02601.HK), NCI (01336.HK), PICC GROUP (01339.HK), CHINA TAIPING (00966.HK), and SUNSHINE INS (06963.HK) dived 4-5.4%. PICC P&C (02328.HK) had a relatively moderate decline, and last posted at HKD16.55, down 2.24%, with a turnover of HKD140 million. Major financials were meager, with AIA (01299.HK), HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK), HKEX (00388.HK), and BOC HONG KONG (02388.HK) falling 0.7-2.4%. STANCHART (02888.HK), which will announce its results today, last stood at HKD193, up 0.52%, with a turnover of HKD32.61 million. Three AI large model semi-IPOs that had plunged yesterday picked up, with MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) last at HKD904.5, up 7.61%, with a turnover of HKD1.149 billion.
