European bourses advanced in early trading, buttressed by corporate earnings, with the French market notching a record high. As the UK retail sales rose by 1.8% MoM last month, topping expectations, UK stocks steadied. The market focused on the US-Iran situation and the upcoming US PCE inflation data.

The STOXX 600 added by 1.56 points or 0.3% to 626.89. The UK's FTSE 100 hiked by 32 points or 0.3% to 10,659. France's CAC 40 gained by 55 points or 0.7% to 8,454, hitting a new peak of 8,462 during trading. Germany's DAX lifted by 8 points or less than 0.1% to 25,051. Spain's IBEX 35 climbed by 38 points or 0.2% to 18,055. Italy's FTSE MIB leaped 262 points or 0.6% to 46,056.

LVMH and Burberry each mounted over 3%. French industrial gas company Air Liquide swelled by 3.7%, with quarterly sales meeting expectations but dividend payouts increased. Anglo American's adjusted core profit last year was USD6.4 billion, but net loss was USD3.7 billion. The stock rose by 0.9%.
