HKEX Cautiously Optimistic About Mkt; Bonnie Chan: 10+ Int'l Firms Queuing for Listings

On the first trading day of the Year of the Horse, HKEX (00388.HK)'s Chief Executive Officer, Bonnie Chan, said that Hong Kong stocks had had a good start. more than 20 new IPOs have been listed YTD, raising US$10 billion. The momentum in secondary offerings is also strong, with the amount raised YTD already exceeding one-third of last year's additional share offering fundraising amount. Currently, over 400 companies are queueing for IPO, with more than 10 being international firms, Chan noted. She expected this trend to continue.
