China has approved DeepSeek to purchase Nvidia (NVDA.US) H200 AI chips, but the relevant regulatory conditions are yet to be finalized, Reuters, citing sources, reported.

Prior to this, ByteDance, BABA-W (09988.HK), and TENCENT (00700.HK) had been purportedly permitted to purchase more than 400,000 H200 chips.

However, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated yesterday (29th) that he has not received any related information and believes that China will eventually settle the licensing matters.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) approved the applications of the four companies mentioned above to purchase H200 chips, but some conditions, which are yet to be determined, will be attached, latest sources said.

The conditions are said to be decided by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
