Spot gold continued to break ceiling during the Asian session, and rose above US$5,300 per ounce. It once peaked at US$5,311.68, and climbed 2.2% to last at US$5,294, with a YTD total incline of over 22%.

Spot silver last lifted 1.7% to US$114.09 per ounce, and once peaked at US$116.11.
