The HSI ended the day up 239 points or 0.9% at 26,848. The HSCEI rose 65 points or 0.7%, closing at 9,285. The HSTECH climbed 6 points or 0.1% to close at 5,869. The total market turnover for the day amounted to HKD315.192 billion. In the technology sector, BABA-W (09988.HK) hiked 3.6% to HKD159.9, with a turnover of HKD24.5 billion. ALI HEALTH (00241.HK) also advanced 2.8%. TENCENT (00700.HK) edged up 0.7% to HKD627.5. JD-SW (09618.HK) added 0.4%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) grew 3.1%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) fell 0.1% and 0.2%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) shed 1.6% and 2.2%. Some AI stocks retreated, with SENSETIME-W (00020.HK), WEIMOB INC (02013.HK), and FOURTH PARADIGM (06682.HK) dropping 4.4-4.9%. KNOWLEDGE ATLAS (02513.HK) and MINIMAX-WP (00100.HK) even plunged 12.8% and 8.3%. Among chip stocks, SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) eroded 1.1% and 2%. BIREN TECH (06082.HK) and ILUVATAR COREX (09903.HK) plummeted 7.7% and 8.9%. Chip equipment maker ASMPT (00522.HK) rallied 3.6%. Mobile component maker COWELL (01415.HK) surged 8.1%, while its peers Q TECH (01478.HK) and LENS (06613.HK) dived 6.2% and 5.7%. Supported by the framework deal signed between China and the EU on electric vehicle tariffs, carmaker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) went up 1.6% to HKD97.25. GWMOTOR (02333.HK), XPENG-W (09868.HK), and LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) also leaped over 2%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) faded 2%.
