Policy measures to expand domestic demand and promote consumption continued to be effective, coupled with increased residents' consumption demand as the New Year approaches, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). In December 2025, China's Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.2% MoM and 0.8% YoY, in line with expectations. Of which, prices in urban areas grew by 0.9% YoY, while rural areas rose by 0.6% ;food prices hiked by 1.1%, and non-food prices added by 0.8% YoY; consumer goods prices inclined by 1.0% YoY, and service prices ticked up by 0.6% YoY.
