Mainland Chinese authorities released a notification on the 2026 large-scale equipment renewal and consumer goods trade-in policy, according to a report by Cailian Press. Consumers purchasing mobile phones, tablets, smart watches and bands, and smart glasses, with a single item sales price not exceeding RMB6,000, will receive a subsidy of 15% of the product price. Each consumer can receive a subsidy for one item per category, with a maximum subsidy of RMB500 per item. Compared to 2025, the "national subsidy" of 2026 eliminated the categories of home decoration and electric bicycles, but added the category of smart glasses, while reducing the subsidy rate for home appliances from 20% to 15%, report told.
