Hang Seng Indexes Company announced yesterday (18th) the launch of the Hang Seng SCHK Electronics Theme Index. This index reflects the performance of companies listed in Hong Kong that are engaged in the electronics industry, including semiconductors and basic electronic components, telecoms equipment & parts, IT equipment & parts, and Audio/Video equipment & parts, and eligible for Southbound trading under the Stock Connect scheme. The number of constituents is fixed at 40, representing the top 40 securities with the largest market cap that fit the electronic theme. The index is reviewed semi-annually, while the weightings are adjusted quarterly.
