Trade negotiations between the US and Taiwan may include new investments by Taiwan in semiconductor manufacturing and other advanced industries, while supporting the US in utilizing Taiwanese technology to build technology park infrastructure, Reuters reported, citing sources.

Under this arrangement, Taiwanese companies such as TSMC (TSM.US) will invest new funds and workers to expand their operations in the US and train American workers. Taiwan has also pledged that the total investment in the US will be less than South Korea's and Japan's respective USD350 billion and USD550 billion.
