<H Shrs>HSI Ends Up by 178 Pts; XIAOMI-W, BIDU-SW, BABA-W Boom

Following a phone call between the Chinese and US leaders, US bourse rallied amid the AI boom, whereas A-shares also elevated, contributing to a positive performance in Hong Kong stocks. The HSI opened 232 points higher, leaping as much as 352 points to peak at 26,069, before closing up 178 points or 0.7% at 25,894. The HSCEI climbed 78 points or 0.9% to close at 9,158. The HSTECH gained 66 points or 1.2% to close at 5,612. Total market turnover reached HK$231.149 billion. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) founder Lei Jun increased his holdings in the company by 2.6 million shares at an average price of HK$38.58 per share. XIAOMI-W soared 4.7% to end at HK$40.34. JD-SW (09618.HK) is reportedly considering selling US$1 billion in bonds linked to JD HEALTH (06618.HK)’s equity. JD-SW closed flat at HK$112.4, while JD HEALTH fell 0.6%. UBTECH ROBOTICS (09880.HK) raised HK$3.056 billion net through a share placement at an 11.4% discount, with its share price ebbing 0.8% and turnover exceeding HK$2 billion. As to other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK), which is set to announce its quarterly results after the market close, jumped up 2.1%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) shot up 5.2% and 4.6% respectively. KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) rallied 3.1%. NTES-S (09999.HK) inched up 0.5%, whereas TENCENT (00700.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) edged up 0.1%. Furthermore, GDS-SW (09698.HK) mounted 6%. ALI HEALTH (00241.HK), PA GOODDOCTOR (01833.HK), and CHINA LIT (00772.HK) shot up 4-4.4%. MEITU (01357.HK) surged 3.2%. SMIC (00981.HK) fell 0.1%, while HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) rose 2.4%.
