The Chinese government has instructed domestic airlines to temporarily reduce the number of Japan flights until March 2026, and it has indicated that the situation is subject to adjustments depending on where the tensions with Japan lead to, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

China Trading Desk, a market research firm specializing in Chinese travel data, revealed that the cancellation of trips to Japan by Chinese travelers is going to persist until April 2026. The number of China-Japan flights in December will decrease by more than 20% compared to October, with over 50% of routes expected to be canceled by the end of the year.
