A spokesperson for XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) has issued a statement regarding rumors about a battery production line fire at a Xiaomi Auto plant. The statement clarifies that the incident was indeed a deviation during the production process debugging work, but it was not due to any design defects, material issues, or manufacturing flaws in the battery itself. It is stressed that all battery packs for Xiaomi Auto models adhere to ultra-high standards of development, and the batteries for the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7 are in line with the relevant national battery standards. According to the statement, the incident happened during the debugging and optimization process of the production equipment in the battery workshop at a Xiaomi Auto plant in 2024. An error made by an operator during manual mode debugging caused a collision between the battery pack transported on an automated guided vehicle and the equipment.
