The HSI opened 375 points or 1.5% lower at 25,460. The HSCEI dropped 130 points or 1.4% to 9,012. The HSTECH slipped 123 points or 2.2% to 5,451. NTES-S (09999.HK) joined the market's retreat, opening down 0.2% at HKD212.2. Its 3Q25 non-GAAP net profit met expectations with a rise of 27%. Among other tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened declining 3.1% at HKD150. TENCENT (00700.HK) dipped 1.8% to HKD610. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) slid 1.5% and 1.7%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) shed 2.4%. BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) plunged 4.1% and 4.7%. Regarding the handset-related stocks, BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) receded 1.9% and 2.1% at open. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) sank 3.3%. PC manufacturer LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) dived 4.9%. Carmaker BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) opened 2.1% lower at HKD93.2. Its peers GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) and LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) eroded 1.2% and 1.3%.
