Eddie Wu: AI Development Will Go Through 3 Stages; BABA-W Ramping Up Investment to Build Super AI Cloud

At the Wuzhen Summit of the 2025 World Internet Conference, BABA-W (09988.HK) CEO Eddie Wu said that AI development will go through three stages, and the first stage is the emergence of intelligence, which has been the main theme over the past few years. The second stage is the path toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), which we are currently in. When users make requests to AI, AI Agents can handle a wide range of tasks in the digital world and connect to the real world through interfaces to operate certain physical devices. The third stage will be the realization of Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), where AI connects to the full spectrum of raw data from the real world and possesses the ability to learn autonomously and iterate on its own. In addition, Wu mentioned that BABA-W is building large-scale AI infrastructure and increasing investment to create a super AI cloud, with an aim to provide leading AI services for global developers with its full-stack technological capabilities.
