Over 1.28 million mainland tourists visited Hong Kong during the first seven days of the National Day Golden Week holiday, marking a 5.6% YoY increment, according to the Immigration Department data.

Timothy Chui, executive director of the Hong Kong Tourism Association, noted that most local hotels posted high occupancy rates during the Golden Week. However, apart from a roughly 10% rise in room rates on the nights of October 2 and 3, prices remained at regular levels on other days.

Fanny Yeung, Executive Director of Travel Industry Council (TIC) of Hong Kong, separately revealed that about 60% of mainland tourists stayed overnight during the first six days of the Golden Week.
