The HSI settled down 183 points or 0.7% at 26,957; the HSCEI dipped 84 points or 0.9% to close at 9,573; the HSTECH sagged 72 points or 1.1% to close at 6,550. The total market turnover for the day whopped HKD121.257 billion. Chipmaker HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) had its TP added by Goldman Sachs to HKD117. Its stock price rallied 4.6%. SMIC (00981.HK) reversed up by 0.2%, while chip equipment stock ASMPT (00522.HK) spiked 6.4%. TENCENT (00700.HK) topped the global "blind test" for its HunYuan Image 3.0, with its stock price gaining 0.6% to HKD677.5. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) reported that sales of its Xiaomi 17 series mounted by more than 20% compared to the same period of previous generations, but its stock price retreated 2.1% to HKD53.85. For other techs, BABA-W (09988.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) lost between 1.6% and 2.5%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) lost 0.5% and 1.1%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) added 0.7%. EAST BUY (01797.HK) leaped 4.4%. The China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) charted that the overseas sales of domestic automakers hiked 11% YoY in August but eroded 3% MoM. BYD COMPANY-100 (01211.HK) dropped 1.2%, while XPENG-W (09868.HK) and GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) receded 1.8%. LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) slid 3.3%, while CHERY AUTO (09973.HK) shot up 2.9%.
