The US and the EU have reached a trade agreement, but reactions from EU countries and business leaders are mixed, given that the US will continue to impose a 15% tariff on nearly all EU products, including automobiles, which is more than three times the current average tariff of 4.8%.

The Federation of German Industries slammed the agreement for the devastating impacts it will cause. The German Association of the Automotive Industry noted that reaching a framework agreement is fundamentally positive, but it warned that future tariffs will incur substantial costs.

Benjamin Haddad, France's Minister Delegate for European Affairs, said that the agreement isn't a balanced one even though it will bring temporary stability.
