The HSI concluded lower 142 points or 0.6% at 23,892; the HSCEI fell 74 points or 0.9% to close at 8,655; and the HSTECH dropped 91 points or 1.7% to close at 5,239. The total market turnover for the day was HKD294.287 billion. Commodity stocks advanced, with oil CNOOC (00883.HK) up 2.1%, and coal maker YANKUANG ENERGY (01171.HK) up 4.6%. Oil service provider CHINA OILFIELD (02883.HK) spiked 3.3%; and SINOPEC SSC (01033.HK) surged 25%, with a turnover of HKD1.89 billion. Petroleum drilling machine manufacturer SHANDONG MOLONG (00568.HK) leapfrogged 76%, with a turnover of HKD7.47 billion. Gold miners LINGBAO GOLD (03330.HK) and SD GOLD (01787.HK) shot up 6.1% and 6%. ZHAOJIN MINING (01818.HK) mounted 4.1%. Shippers COSCO SHIP HOLD (01919.HK) and OOIL (00316.HK) surged 5.4% and 4.2%. Recently, the mainland released the “Opinions on Deepening Reform and Innovation and Expanding Opening Up in Shenzhen Comprehensive Reform Pilot”, clearly stating that enterprises from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area listed on HKEX (00388.HK) are allowed to return to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange for listing. TENCENT (00700.HK) closed flat at HKD510, while XPENG-W (09868.HK) fell off 5.2% to HKD72.4, and HKEX (00388.HK) added 0.5% to HKD413.6. Among other tech stocks, BIDU-SW (09888.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) dipped 0.6-1.2%. BABA-W (09988.HK), SMIC (00981.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) sagged 2-2.4%. Automakers subtracted, with GWMOTOR (02333.HK) and NIO-SW (09866.HK) slipping 3.1% and 4.9%. BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) slid 2.5%. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) sank 0.5%. Autonomous driving chip stock HORIZONROBOT-W (09660.HK) slumped 3.8%, while battery stock CATL (03750.HK) rose 1.2%. Pharmaceuticals saw a pullback, with JUNSHI BIO (01877.HK) placing shares at an 11.5% discount to raise HKD1.03 billion in net proceeds, causing its stock price to tumble 10.5%. SINO BIOPHARM (01177.HK) planned to launch five innovative products annually over the next three years, with expected recent out-licensing transaction, causing the stock to retreat 2.8%. CANSINOBIO (06185.HK), FOSUN PHARMA (02196.HK), and SSY GROUP (02005.HK) dived 3.2-3.7%, while GENSCRIPT BIO (01548.HK) and REMEGEN (09995.HK) cratered 4.2% and 7.1%.
