At the Shanghai International Automobile Exhibition, Pony.ai (PONY.US) CEO Jun Peng stated that U.S. tariff policies amid the U.S.-China trade war have not directly impacted the company’s operations or supply chain but could pose potential challenges for international business expansion.

Last year, Pony.ai had established a European R&D center, planning to develop and deploy autonomous vehicles in Luxembourg, where it had partnered with mobility company Emile Weber. Additionally, the company had formed a joint venture with South Korean tech firm GemVaxLink to advance autonomous driving technology and applications.

As to any consideration of secondary listing in Hong Kong, Peng noted it as a possible option but emphasized the company’s current focus on producing its 7th-generation vehicle model.

He said Pony.ai secured autonomous taxi service licenses in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen and is exploring launching similar services in Hong Kong.
