XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) will not hit the market with its YU7, an electric SUV, in June or July as previously planned, with a new release date yet to be confirmed, Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported.

Last month, a fatal crash involving a Xiaomi SU7 in Anhui Province prompted Xiaomi’s founder, chairman and CEO Lei Jun to state in early April that the company immediately formed a task force to assist at the scene, cooperate with police by providing vehicle data, and commit to full transparency.

Lei underscored that Xiaomi would not avert responsibility, would continue supporting the police investigation, and would address the concerns of the victims’ families and the public to the best of its ability.

Earlier, the Suzhou International Auto Show (IAS) announced that the event, slated for May 1, will not feature the Xiaomi YU7. Additionally, Xiaomi’s 2025 Investor Day, originally set for April 27, has been postponed to June 3.
