US President Donald Trump said yesterday (22nd) that he will approach trade talks with China in a very friendly manner, and that the hefty tariffs imposed by the US on Chinese goods may be sharply reduced in the future.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent had commented earlier that high tariffs are unsustainable, and predicted that tensions in China-US trade relations could ease.

As trade negotiations may see a breakthrough, export stocks delivered an encouraging performance. TECHTRONIC IND (00669.HK) opened 4.32% higher this morning and climbed to as high as $79.85. It last traded at $78.7, up 3.08%, on a volume of 1.5407 million shares, involving $121 million.

SHENZHOU INTL (02313.HK) also opened up 4.15% this morning. It last traded at $52.75, up 4.35%, on a volume of 2.8832 million shares, involving $153 million.

CRYSTAL INTL (02232.HK) opened soaring 5.19% today. It last traded at $4.43, up 4.48%. YUE YUEN IND (00551.HK) gained 2.84%. It was last at $10.72, up 1.32%. AAC TECH (02018.HK) grew 5.85%. It last rose 5.12% to $35.95. SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) hiked 4.61%. It last printed at $64.95, up 3.26%.
