The U.S. is purportedly considering relaxing its plan to impose port fees on Chinese vessels. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that such fees would be detrimental to all parties involved.

Beyond shoring up global shipping costs and displacing the stability of global supply chains, it would also increase inflationary pressure within the U.S., undermining the interests of American consumers and businesses.
