U.S. President Donald Trump threatened on 7 April to levy an additional 50% tariff on China. In response, a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce stated that countermeasures would be taken and that China would fight to the end.

The self-media account "Niu Tan Qin (literal translation of "牛彈琴")", founded by Liu Hong, deputy editor-in-chief of Xinhua Net, cited the latest sources, revealing that China has prepared at least six countermeasures.
