CN Imposes Export Controls on 7 Categories of Medium and Heavy Rare Earths

The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of China announced that, effective immediately, export controls will be imposed on items related to medium and heavy rare earths. A spokesperson from the MOC stated that, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, export control measures will be applied to seven categories of medium and heavy rare earth-related items, including samarium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, scandium, and yttrium. The spokesperson emphasized that these export controls, implemented lawfully by China, aim to better safeguard national security and interests.
