Hangzhou City held a strategic cooperation advancement meeting with BABA-W (09988.HK) (BABA.US) yesterday (2nd). Yao Gaoyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Hangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, expressed hopes for a new chapter in the partnership between Hangzhou and Alibaba. The goal is to jointly build the foundation for "new infrastructure" in the digital era, enhancing cooperation on core computing power projects in Hangzhou, increasing the deployment and utilization of computing resources in the city, and driving the development of the entire digital "new infrastructure" industry chain. This collaboration aims to support Hangzhou in becoming a globally competitive and influential hub for the artificial intelligence industry. Additionally, both parties will work concertedly to address critical "chokehold" challenges in hard technology, jointly tackling key cutting-edge technological breakthroughs; co-create benchmark scenarios for accessible AI applications, deepening cooperation in the innovation and promotion of foundation models; jointly establish a global digital trade hub, with government and enterprise collaboration to fully promote a new paradigm in digital trade; and co-build a "digital + livelihood" service system, developing more high-quality products, services, and business models for the public.
