BYD COMPANY's (01211.HK) (002594.SZ) Japanese corporation has announced a price reduction of around JPY300,000 (equivalent to about $15,600) for the pure electric vehicles (EVs) from the "Dolphin" and other series sold in Japan, marking the company's first price cut in Japan, according to Japanese media. It is understood that BYD COMPANY plans to boost sales through a pricing strategy due to stagnant sales of pure EVs in Japan.
