Efforts will be made to improve mechanisms for a higher proportion of new energy participation in the China market, said Chen Wei, Deputy General Manager of the Guangzhou Power Exchange Center.

This includes enriching and refining market trading mechanisms suited to the participation of humungous distributed energy resources and new entities, while enhancing coordination with diverse markets such as the carbon market and energy usage rights market.

Moreover, the center will promote the establishment of robust cross-border and transnational power trading mechanisms, pushing to integrate Hong Kong and Macau into the Southern Regional Power Market, thereby optimizing resource allocation through markets on a broader scale.

Looking ahead, the center will focus on establishing power market mechanisms that are conducive to the "West-to-East Power Transmission" strategy, regional coordinated development, the "Dual Carbon" goals, and the co-construction of the "Belt and Road Initiative".
