BANKCOMM (03328.HK) announced an A-share placement, resulting in HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK)'s stake in BANKCOMM being diluted from 19% to approximately 16%.

At an informal shareholder meeting in Hong Kong, HSBC HOLDINGS Chairman Mark Tucker stated that BANKCOMM's profitability continues to improve, allowing the group to sustain deep-pocketed returns.

He emphasized that HSBC HOLDINGS remains committed to its presence in China and will strive to maintain its shareholding in BANKCOMM in the future.

The group views BANKCOMM as a long-term strategic partner and intends to continue close collaboration moving forward, he added.
