On March 29, a XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) SU7 vehicle collided with a guardrail and caught fire on a highway in Anhui Province. A netizen claiming to be a family member of the deceased alleged that the car doors locked during the accident, and a battery explosion resulted in the deaths of all three occupants, who were burned alive. Today (April 1) noon, a Xiaomi spokesperson released details of the incident on Weibo, stating that the company immediately formed a task force and has been actively cooperating with the police investigation under their guidance since the incident occurred. By Monday evening (March 31), Xiaomi had legally submitted all available vehicle driving data and system operation information to the authorities. The company pledged to continue fully supporting the police and adhering strictly to the investigation’s findings to ensure transparency in handling the matter. According to Xiaomi’s preliminary findings, the vehicle was operating in Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) intelligent-assisted driving mode at a speed of 116 km/h before the crash. Due to road construction and repairs in the affected section, the driver took over in manual mode. The vehicle subsequently collided with the guardrail, with the last confirmed speed recorded by the system at approximately 97 km/h prior to the impact. AAStocks Financial News |
