Several banks in China have received notifications from their headquarters saying that the annualized interest rate for credit consumer loan products may be raised to no less than 3% starting in April, according to what the Securities Times learned from insiders at local branches of some joint-stock and major state-owned banks.

The report cited personnel from the personal loan department of a certain joint-stock bank's East China branch as saying that customers who have secured loans with interest rates below 3% were reminded to withdraw their funds by today (31st) if they had not done so.
