Chinese big banks are accelerating the disposal of non-performing home loans to avoid further erosion of their balance sheets and in response to calls from the Chinese government to support the economy, Bloomberg quoted sources as saying. It has been reported that, in recent months, financial regulators have urged banks such as ICBC (01398.HK) to prioritize the disposal of non-performing home loans, and some banks have already doubled the full-year write-off quota for their local branches this year.
