BMW Group announced an enhanced strategic partnership with BABA-W (09988.HK) (BABA.US), aiming to jointly develop an AI engine based on the Tongyi series of foundation models. This engine will be applied to BMW’s next-generation vehicle models in the mainland China market. The deepened strategic collaboration primarily focuses on cutting-edge technology areas such as AI foundation models and intelligent voice interaction. Built on the Tongyi series models, the new BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant utilizes an AI engine co-developed by BMW and Alibaba. It is planned to be integrated into domestically produced BMW next-generation models, with deliveries expected in the mainland market starting in 2026.
