GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) CEO Gui Sheng Yue stated that the company’s autonomous driving system will be implemented in new products launching in April, emphasizing that safety is the top priority in developing autonomous driving technology. While Geely advances its new energy vehicle (NEV) initiatives, it will not abandon internal combustion engines vehicles (ICEVs), with plans to amplify investments in smart technology for ICEVs, the CEO revealed. Gui highlighted that the company maintains a healthy cash position, with a cash level of RMB40 billion, without financing plans at present. In his address, Gui remarked that last year’s performance reflects Geely’s initial success in transitioning to NEVs, achieving profitability in its NEV development, and demonstrating a product structure that is both competitive and profitable.
