The liquidators of EVERGRANDE (03333.HK) filed a lawsuit in 2024 against Group Founder Hui Ka Yan, his ex-wife Ding Yumei, former group CEO Xia Haijun and other people, as well as related entities, to recover a total of about US$6 billion.

The court granted an injunction restraining the relevant individuals from disposing of their $60 billion assets worldwide and requiring a number of defendants to disclose their holding assets.

Xia's earlier application to the court to lift the mariva injunction order and exempt him from disclosing assets was rejected by the court, and he failed to disclose his assets before the deadline requested by the court.

As the mariva injunction order relating to EVERGRANDE is an international case, High Court Judge Russell Coleman yesterday (19th) granted an “unless order”, prohibiting Xia from defending unless he discloses his assets by next Friday (28th).
