Despite potential U.S. tightening of restrictions on advanced chip exports to China, the company is well-equipped to withstand such challenges, said Wu Qiang, Co-President of LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK). Currently, LEAPMOTOR sources its chips from Qualcomm (QCOM.US) and Nvidia (NVDA.US). Wu remarked that the U.S. restrictions are "meaningless", as they could accelerate China’s development of domestic technology. He assessed the likelihood of chip ban dramatically impacting the electric vehicle industry as minimal, but emphasized that the company will be fully prepared regardless. Wu also confirmed that LEAPMOTOR is scouting potential collaboration with Ferrari, though discussions remain in the preliminary stage. Besides, he revealed that the company plans to standardize advanced driver-assistance features by May, with the recently launched B10 electric SUV already geared with the new driving assistance capabilities.
