After CCTV's “315” Gala exposed problems such as intelligent robots making marketing nuisance calls and the inadequate implementation of real-name system requirements for mobile virtual network operators, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) organized overnight investigations into the suspected illegal and non-compliant entities by the communications authorities of places like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong, instructing basic telecom operators to immediately shut down the lines in question, and verifying the situation of the personal data involved, according to Xinhua News Agency.

In addition, the MIIT urged internet platform enterprises to comprehensively clean up the sales and promotion information of illegal intelligent outbound call software.
