US President Donald Trump aims to exempt taxes for people earning less than US$150,000 a year, US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said. This follows Trump's pledge to eliminate taxes on tips while pushing for sweeping tax cuts for individuals and enterprises.

When asked about tax cuts leading to higher deficits and debt, Lutnick added that “other people,” instead of Americans, would pay for the government, blaming overseas tax evasion for lower US tax revenues, and the elimination of such practices would increase US fiscal revenue.
