HSBC HOLDINGS (00005.HK) is signing short-term retention agreements with some investment bankers as the group is pushing for a comprehensive overhaul and gradually closing some operations, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

According to the report, HSBC HOLDINGS is shutting down parts of its investment banking division and cutting multiple vice-chairman positions across various markets. In some cases, bankers will remain for 3-6 months to complete work arrangements in Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
