NIO-SW (09866.HK) mounted layoffs last week affecting various departments, including UR Fellow (after-sales customer service), PT Energy, NIO House operations, after-sales stores, and terminal sales teams, according to a report by Chinese tech platform citing informed employees. The company is offering compensation and reassignment options as part of the layoff packages.

The dismissals are expected to impact around 10% of staff, with variations across regions, sources indicated. In Shanghai, the UR Fellow team, which has about 80 members, saw 7-8 employees cut, reflecting a 10% reduction.

In contrast, the UR Fellow team in Shenzhen faced a 50% cut. Some laid-off employees have reportedly joined Xiaomi Auto, which is currently building its user service operations, following their departure from NIO.

NIO-SW last leaped 9.46%, touching HKD41.65. Trading volume hit 6.013 million shares, with a turnover of HKD248 million.
