U.S. President Donald Trump met with more than 100 leaders of major corporations on Tuesday, hinting that new tariffs could exceed 25%, reported The Washington Post.

He emphasized that tariffs are delivering enormous positive effects, stating that higher tariffs increase the likelihood of companies establishing factories in the U.S.

Attendees of the business roundtable reportedly included prominent figures such as Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Trump also defended Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who serves as head of the Department of Government Efficiency, asserting that Musk is leading White House efforts to streamline the federal government.

He acknowledged some minor issues in the process but dismissed them as insignificant, highlighting that the initiative has already saved substantial funds.
