Monica.im, a Chinese AI startup, introduced "Manus," an AI Agent product positioned as a general-purpose intelligent assistant, boasting performance that surpasses OpenAI’s equivalent foundation models. As Manus remains in its internal testing phase, invitation codes have surged to as high as RMB100,000 on secondhand trading platforms, Chinese news broke. Zhang Tao, a partner at Manus, posted a statement noting that the first batch of test users provided highly valuable feedback. Yet, he clarified that the company has never established any paid invitation code application channels nor allocated any promotional budget, adding that server capacity is now limited and asking for users’ understanding.
